A is for 'About' and 'Already done'

This will be a blog about my costuming journey. Specifically, my efforts to make a really nice Rapunzel costume from Disney's 'Tangled'. I will share my progress and colorful anecdotes about my distractions along the way.

So here is the costume:

Lots of purple satin. LOTS of details. I won't talk about them all now because I need stuff to blog about later for the A-Z challenge! My deadline is Dragon Con 2011, Labor Day weekend in Atlanta, GA. I've already been working hard on my costume since the beginning of the year. Here is what I have Already done:

So far I have: Most of the body of the skirt, and a test bustier.

Still to go:
  • Center panel for the skirt (brocade)
  • Real bustier (lavender brocade)
  • Petticoat
  • Undershirt
  • Sleeves (with ribbon)
  • Lace trim
  • Embroidery (lots)
Like I said, lots more work. One step at a time!

  2. Love this as a blog topic!

And in truth, I envy you. People who can stitch and cut and make something of it have always amazed me.

Well, then. Don't keep us waiting--on to your B and C!

Best of luck on your A to Z,
